Sightseeing tour in Almaty which was founded in 1854 as a military fortification of the Russian Empire called Vernoe. Now it is a cultural and business center of Kazakhstan.
Walking around “Twenty-eight Panfilevtsev” Park devoted to the hero of World War II Panfilov and his fellows. On the west-end of the park there are Arasan Baths where you can check the difference between Turkish, Russian and Finish bathing habits.
In the center of the park visiting Ascension Day Cathedral built by a famous Russian architect A. Zenkov. It is a great example of a church made in traditional Russian Orthodox style.
Continuation of visit with the Museum of Musical Instruments, where you can see variety of Kazakh national musical instruments and instruments of other nationalities.
After that visiting Republic Square with its monuments devoted to the history of Kazakhstan, including famous Golden Man stature, the symbol of Almaty.
About ten minutes drive from the square there is the central State Historical Museum providing an introduction to Kazakhstan’s history and exhibits a miniature copy of the country’s main archeological treasure, the Golden Man – a warrior’s costume made from 4000 gold pieces.
